Tekiah Membership Covenant

Having been brought to repentance by Divine Grace through personal faith in the completed work of Jesus Christ, and having been baptised as an act of obedience and expression of my death in Christ, and thus becoming part of the universal body of Christ, I now solemnly and joyfully covenant with the members and leadership of Tekiah as a local expression of the body of Christ.

I will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace.

I will walk together in Christian love, as becomes any member of the body of Christ; exercise affectionate care and watchfulness over my own soul and those of my fellow believers in Christ. In the same Spirit of love I will exercise care to admonish, encourage and entreat my fellow believers to Godliness and faithfulness unto the end.

I will bring up such as are under my care in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and by example seek the salvation of those whom the Lord place as a burden on my heart.

As part of this local body I will bear with tenderness and sympathy the burdens and sorrows of those members under trial and tribulation. I will pray for Godly wisdom so as to encourage them and not belittle and ostracize them.

As part of this local body I recognize the men in leadership as appointed by God and willingly and joyfully submit myself to God’s order and correction as expressed through His instruments.

I commit to resolve differences according to the principles as stated in the church constitution and not to leave the church accept on the grounds of doctrinal differences.

I will strive by the Divine Grace imparted unto me , to live carefully in this world, daily crucifying the flesh with its passions and lusts, deliberately avoiding those contaminating influences preventing me from fulfilling the command of Mat 28:19, and daily striving after holiness without which no man will see the Lord. I will do this considering the Glory of God in all my actions.

I will work together for the continual and faithful ministry of this church as we together sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrine.

I will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of this ministry for the expenses of the church, relief of the poor, teaching of the fellowship and spreading of the gospel.

When I relocate from this church I will unite myself to another church where I can live out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s word.

I cannot covenant to all this on just my strength alone but by the grace of the God who made me and saved me I will strive to keep this covenant for the sake of His Kingdom, Glory and Honour.
